Letting Go: Lightening Your Load for a Freer Life

Two Buddhist monks were returning to their monastery after a heavy rainfall. Upon reaching a swollen river, they encountered a beautiful woman in a delicate silk kimono, distressed and unable to cross on her own. Without hesitation, the older monk scooped her up, carried her safely to the other side, and continued on his way. The younger monk followed in silence, but his mind was racing. Hours later, as they neared their destination, he could no longer contain his thoughts.

"How could you do it? We're not allowed to touch a woman!" he blurted out.

The older monk, surprised, calmly replied, "I put her down five hours ago, but you are still carrying her with you."

This simple yet profound story reveals a truth about human nature: we often carry burdens far longer than necessary. Like the younger monk, we hold onto anger, guilt, resentment, or past hurts, allowing them to cloud our minds and drain our energy. Ironically, these burdens often affect us more than anyone else involved. The other person has likely moved on, yet we continue to relive the pain, reinforcing our suffering.

The Power of Letting Go

Letting go doesn’t mean condoning the situation or forgetting what happened. It means choosing to free ourselves from the weight of the past. It is an act of self-liberation, allowing us to reclaim our energy and redirect it toward joy, peace, and personal growth.

At its core, letting go involves some form of forgiveness or acceptance—whether of ourselves, others, or circumstances beyond our control. It’s a shift in perspective that says, "I no longer wish to be controlled by this."

You Don’t Need to Know How—Just Be Willing

Many people resist letting go because they don’t know how. But the truth is, you don’t need a perfect strategy. You just need to be willing. The mere awareness that you're holding onto something can begin the process of release. Over time, with intention and practice, the grip will naturally loosen.

And while we can’t change the past, we can absolutely change how we move forward. The energy we once used to dwell on pain can now fuel our transformation.

The Body/Belief/Emotion Code: A Path to Release

Sometimes, letting go feels impossible because the weight we carry isn’t just mental—it’s stored deep within our body and subconscious mind. This is where the Body/Belief/Emotion Code comes in. These powerful energy healing methods help identify and release trapped emotions, limiting beliefs, and energetic imbalances that keep us stuck.

Through this work, I can help you uncover what’s truly holding you back—whether it’s an old trauma, inherited patterns, or subconscious programming. By clearing these energetic blocks, you can experience profound emotional freedom, greater clarity, and a renewed sense of lightness in your life.

You don’t have to do it alone. If you're ready to stop carrying what no longer serves you, I can guide you through the process of releasing, healing, and reclaiming your energy.

What Are You Still Carrying?

Take a moment to reflect. What are you holding onto that no longer serves you? Anger? Regret? Fear?

While you may not be ready to release these things today, simply acknowledging them raises your awareness and sets the stage for change.

Take a moment to list what you're carrying and consider how holding onto it "benefits" you—because even our pain serves a purpose until we decide we no longer need it.

What do I need to let go of? How do I benefit by 'holding on?

Remember: whatever you find hardest to let go of is probably what you need to release the most. The lighter your load, the freer your spirit.

If you’re ready to start this journey, reach out—I’d love to help you release what no longer serves you and step into a lighter, freer version of yourself.
